Hey Guys,
So since my last post a lot of things have happened, that is
to say that my school schedule for the next year has been decided and thus my
race schedule is taking shape. Speaking of “shape” it is something I have been
falling out of since about two weeks ago. It was a cold day but the sun was out
so I figured that a ride wouldn’t be too bad so I went for it. Once I got home,
grabbed some lunch, got some things done around the house and laced up my shoes
I felt a little tight. I was hoping a light run would loosen things up however
I think the run was a terrible idea. I had to cut the run short to 5 miles and
walked the last couple hundred yards because the pain in my right side was so
bad. I have felt soreness before and I was hoping this was just some good old
“hard work pain” but it wasn’t. Three days later the pain was still there after
talking to the doc he said that it was bursitis and I should start some
naproxen to help with the inflammation and no running for 2 weeks. It will be a
rough couple of weeks and I will probably need a therapist by the end of it,
psychotherapist that is.
But I am very optimistic that the time off will help give my
body the rest it needs to get back to work. The 2012 Race season is quickly
approaching and I can’t wait for the temperature to rise and get some quality
miles on the road.
As far as the race schedule is concerned I have updated my
page with a more accurate depiction of what my year will look like along with
my rotation schedule for May ’12 to May ’13.
I hope that everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather we
are having by getting outside!
